Jobs Listening Tour comes to Helena
A panel of Democratic state legislators took comments from business and community leaders Thursday morning at Hometown Helena.
The forum is part of the Business and Jobs Listening Tour where state politicians travel around the state. Representative, Chuck Hunter, says they want to find out what changes need to be made at local levels to stimulate job creation in local communities. At Thursday's meeting many people suggested looking at the healthcare industry and public sector to help the local and state economy.
"This community is the focus of government in Montana. We should be proud of that and we should protect that and we should advance this community's agenda in that legislature," says MEA-MFT, Eric Feaver.
"It's part of, the basic part of the political process I think is to touch base with the folks who are affected in communities with various issue and really hear from them about their concerns, interests and ideas," says Hunter.
Hunter says the suggestions and feedback they get on the tour will likely result in some bills for the next legislature. Comments can also be submitted online, for more information click here.
